Fido’s Blog

So, Sophie was acting sick again so we finally decided we better take her into the emergency vet to have her checked out.  We took her in and $200 later found out she is a weird dog that can’t express her anal glands and they had to be expressed for her.

Sophie had an appointment the following Tuesday at out vet’s office. We went in for her shots and they checked her out and she looked fine. I should mention that our normal doctor and the back up doctor were gone so we ended up going to a doctor that we haven’t seen in years.  Sophie got all of her yearly shots and we went home.

On the way home, Sophie started acting weird and was panting and tired and groggy. We knew the shots would make her tired but by the morning she was still acting weird, so I took her to the vet and they kept her all day long to watch her.  Apparently, we have never done all shots at once for Sophie because she is so small and they normally wouldn’t do that.  So, basically she will never get more than one shot at a time.

Also, as an added bonus, sophie threw up all over me, her carrier, her blanket and the spare blanket i brought for her because I know she gets car sick easily.

Small dogs are a lot of work. 

So, I think we will be heading to SuperZoo in September to look at all the new pet products coming out for 2009.  I am very excited to see everything and to talk with everyone about their new toys and clothing.
